Cycle 9, Freija's musings:
We actually found him alive! I'll be honest, I wanted to go to retrieve his body and honour his life but he gets to fight on another day... I need to remember this win. An actual reason to hope. He also went on to explain how he tried to distract the yeti attack. A fools errand. He should have just run and saved his own hide! Why would he sacrifice himself for these people when his dog and husband would be devasted for his loss. I mean, I would too but Aural will have my soul before I would utter such weakness.
Anywho, we managed to find the little person... Fishfingers... in the cave with her dead lover. She had been made a plaything to a yeti child. I've seen those things rip animals apart for fun, forced to listen to the pained cries of a dying goat... Best not dwell on those memories. The positives, I got to use all my learnings of yeti to stop the group from having to kill a mother and child! Proud little moment for me there!
All that effort to save the girl (whom i must say, swiftly moved on from her deceased lover to swooning in the arms of Pleic and flirting with Rintario) and daddy dearest walks in and refused to listen to reason. Thankfully, I think I managed to stop the mother from joining the fray and having to mercy kill the baby yeti. The damn father's body fell off the mountains edge as well! What I would give for a yeti pelt... Though if it hadn't, i would have been tempted to stick around and harvest it... don't think a child should really see their parent being carved up for the fur... silver linings Freya, silver linings.
We managed to find the tiefling higher up on the climb. She was huddled up near a dead dwarf. Whilst Im used to dead bodies, the cold has a horrid way of preserving the final moments of loneliness and terror only the wilds can bring. It was a chilling sight to behold. We did find a magc book on her though, that should help the wizard Rintario along for sure.
